Welcome to the IBO 2026 Volunteer Preparation Course.

This course provides the essential knowledge every volunteer needs before supporting the 37th International Biology Olympiad in Vilnius, Lithuania, on 12–19 July 2026.

All volunteers must review the mandatory course and safety materials, complete the recorded Mandatory Safety Instruction Acknowledgement (Safety Instructions version 1.0, issued 29 June 2026), attend the on-site practical briefing and receive practical sign-off from an authorised lead.

The optional 5 ECTS pathway is visible to everyone and may be joined at the beginning or later during the course. The 5 ECTS Pathway Knowledge Check and academic-credit evidence are required only for volunteers who choose that pathway and receive coordinator confirmation.

Online completion alone does not authorise access to restricted academic information or laboratory work.
